NST ad wins Cannes award

KUALA LUMPUR – The ongoing “NST Perspectives” campaign won another international award on Wednesday. The campaign developed by The New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd’s (NSTP) creative agency, McCann Erickson, was awarded the Bronze Lion at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France.
The three featured advertisements entitled Riot, Smuggling and Exploitation had won the outdoor category but was executed in the Press and Poster media in the festival.
The festival, at the French Riviera, will end today. The festival is an important annual event for global marketing and advertising industries.
NSTP marketing director Zuraida Mohammad said the latest award added to a list of other important accolades which the campaign had garnered over the last one year.
“The campaign is still ongoing and is aimed at raising awareness of NSTP’s reporting of news events with a deeper perspective for readers to gain true insights,” she said.
The campaign had previously won the Grand Prix, Gold and Silver Lotus at the Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (ADFEST 2011) and two Bronze Awards at the 2011 New York Festivals.
