KUALA LUMPUR – PRIZES worth more than RM100,000 to be won. And no, your eyes are not playing tricks on you.

This is the amount participants of the inaugural New Sunday Times Motor Hunt 2012 stand to win on Sunday, July 8.

Besides cash, many other prizes are up for grabs — among them 30 Blackberry smartphones.

The phones, sponsored by Research in Motion Malaysia Sdn Bhd (RIM), are from the Bold 9900, Torch 9860 and Curve 9380 and 9360 series.

Other prizes to be won include cameras and printers.

There are also many hotel stays and F&B vouchers to be given out.

Prepared to be pampered as Best Western Premier Dua Sentral KL is giving out a number of stays at its deluxe rooms, one-bedroom club suite, two-bedroom executive suite, deluxe premier room and one-bedroom premier club suites.

The stays are inclusive of breakfast for two.

The hunt will be divided into three categories, namely regular, beginner and members of the media/sponsors.

The champions in each category will take home RM5,000. There are prizes up to the fifth position in the regular and media/sponsor categories while for beginners, it goes right up to the 30th position.

There are also plans to extend the number of winners for the regular and media/sponsor categories.

The half-day hunt will take participants to various areas in the Klang Valley where they have to answer questions and riddles and obtain hidden treasures.

So, hunters, block out July 8, in your diary for the challenging and exciting New Sunday Times motor treasure hunt.

Registration forms are available in the New Straits Times and New Sunday Times until June 15 and the closing date for entry is June 17.

Registration fee is RM200 for a team of four.

A briefing for hunters and collection of goodie bags will be held on July 5 at Balai Berita in Bangsar.

The motor hunt, with Purple Antz as clerk of course, is sponsored by, among others, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad, AirAsia X Sdn Bhd and Kingston Digital International Ltd.

Among hotels which have sponsored rooms, F&B vouchers and merchandise are Putrajaya Shangri-La, Hard Rock Hotel Penang, G Hotel Penang, DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Impiana KLCC Hotel and One World Hotel.
