GENTING HIGHLANDS – Actor Shaheizy Sam Samad won the Most Popular Artiste award at the 24th Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 2010 last night.

Shaheizy Sam garnered more than 120,000 votes to win the annual entertainment awards’ top prize. He beat singer, songwriter and composer Aizat Amdan and comedian Zizan Razak to win a Nissan Teana 2.0L worth RM137,000 and jewellery from Rafflesia.

Shaheizy Sam also won the Popular Film Actor award. Lisa Surihani won the Popular Film Actress award. He received the Bintang Popular trophy from New Straits Times Press chief executive officer Datuk Anthony Bujang. Present were NSTP chairman Tan Sri Jawhar Hassan and Berita Harian group editor Datuk Mior Kamarul Shahid.

Yuna won the Popular Female Singer award while Faizal Tahir won the Popular Male Singer award. Aznil Nawawi and Fara Fauzana won the Popular Male and Female Television Host awards, while Faizal Ismail and Fara continued to reign as Popular Male and Female Radio presenters.

Zizan Razak won the Popular Male Comedian award, while Noorkhiriah Ahmad Shapie won the Popular Female Comedian award. Shahir Zawawi and Ana Raffali won the Popular New Male and Female Artiste awards.

The annual awards show, organised by Berita Harian and hosted by television personalities and actors Sharifah Shahirah, Raja Azura and Zizan, was telecast live at 9pm over TV3 and Hot FM.
