Berita Minggu, the Sunday edition of Berita Harian was launched on November 11, 1979 with En Sutan Shahril Lembang as Editor.

With steady economic growth, education and rapid urbanization the circulation of Berita Minggu grew from an initial print run of 60,000 copies to 411,606 copies in 1997. Today the readership averages 1.897 million. Distribution is spread across the main market centre, semi-urban and rural areas.

With a policy of continuous improvement, Berita Minggu like the Berita Harian has molded itself into a content-rich newspaper reflecting the aspirations of the thinking person in the era of the information age.
