M-cyclists top fatality list on first day of Ops Sikap

KUALA LUMPUR: Motorcyclists topped the number of deaths in road accidents on Sunday, as Ops Sikap 21 entered its first day. Seven out of nine deaths reported in the operation were motorcyclists.

The rest involved occupants of a car and another vehicle.

In a press statement yesterday, Bukit Aman head of public relations Supt Rasdi Ramli said 723 accidents were reported on roads nationwide, adding that 10,097 summonses were issued. -- Bernama
