Fined for pirated DVDs

KUANTAN: A man was yesterday charged with possessing 24 pirated DVDs, including 17 pornographic copies, an offence punishable by fine of up to RM3,500 or three months' jail. Chong Tsui Meng, 39, from Cheras, Selangor pleaded guilty to committing the offence at a house in Kampung Kempadang Aman here, about 1.30pm on Feb 1.

Chong paid the fine.

Earlier, at the Sessions Court, Chong, pleaded not guilty to forgery with the possession of a machine that could print counterfeit money.

He allegedly committed the offence at the same house and time.

Sessions judge Hassan Abd Ghani fixed April 12 for trial and set bail at RM9,000 in one surety.
