PETALING JAYA: The New Straits Times (NST) bagged the gold award under the media brand choice category at the Putra Aria Brand Awards 2022, in recognition of its image as a brand builder and choice of brands by consumers.
Berita Harian (BH) also secured the gold award under the same media brand choice category.
NSTP group managing editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman said the awards had validated the two publications’ reliability among consumers.
“Alhamdulillah, both of our brands (NST and BH) successfully won the brand choice award under the Putra Aria Brand Awards.
“This has proved that our brands have such an impact among the people and this will be our driving force to continue to be the people’s brands,” he said when met by reporters after receiving the award.
Ahmad Zaini, who is also BH group editor, received both awards alongside NST group editor Farrah Naz Karim.
The inaugural award, held today is an offshoot of the Putra Brand Awards and is organised by the Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As).
The award was established based on online research survey results, which determine consumers’ choice of brands in different categories.
Putra Brand Awards organising chairman Datuk Johny Mun said the award was established to encourage companies to invest in their brands and stay at the top of the consumers’ mind, while staying relevant to the industry’s niche market.
“The idea for the inaugural award was conceived out of respect and honour for marketers and brand builders, as well as agencies to help build the industry.
“The award is here to celebrate every marketer, brand and companies that should be celebrated,” he said in his keynote address at the award, tonight.
Following today’s inaugural award, the Putra Brand Awards will be held a day after (Jan 13) with its 13th instalment
Both of the awards cover 24 categories, including media, communications, banking, investment and insurance, e-commerce, entertainment and tourism.
Simultaneously, Ipsos Malaysia was the official research partner responsible for the research findings for both awards.
The award is also partnered with Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), Malaysian Advertisers Association, Malaysian Digital Association and Media Specialists Association. – NSTOnline
