KOTA BARU: After more than 10 years, the people in Kelantan finally get the chance to take part in an entertainment carnival, thanks to Media Prima Bhd, the New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd (NSTP) and BABA Product (M) Sdn Bhd.
The Karnival Jom Heboh Baba’s event, which ends today, not only attracted people in Kelantan but also visitors from outside the state such as Terengganu.
This was evident from the massive turnout of carnival-goers and the long lines of vehicles making their way to RTC Tunjung here, where the three-day event is being held.
Salesman Mohd Saifullah Zakaria, 32, said it has been quite some time since a large-scale carnival similar to the Karnival Jom Heboh Baba’s event was organised in the state.
“People in the state, especially the younger generation, have been waiting for this moment for many years.
“Some of us are even willing to travel to either Terengganu or Kuala Lumpur to attend a carnival like this.
“It is not a suprise that Karnival Jom Heboh Baba’s event has attracted huge crowds in Kelantan as well as people from outside the state,” he said.
Saifullah said the last time he attended a similar carnival was when he was 22.
Lily Nabila Mohd Epondi thanked the organisers of the carnival for holding such a great event, which was packed with activities and featured appearances of celebrities from various popular programmes on Tonton, TV3, and TV9.
“Young people like me have been looking forward to such an event to be held in the state. When it finally happens, of course we are happy.
“We really want to participate in this kind of carnival like people in other states.
“Not only do we get the chance to enjoy ourselves along with friends and family, we are also able to buy products at a more affordable price apart from trying our luck by taking part in contests held during the event,” Lily Nabila who is from Ketereh said.
Meanwhile, BABA Product (M) Sdn Bhd head of marketing Azrain Mohamad said the positive response from visitors was proof that the carnival was a success.
Azrain added that the company was looking forward to collaborating and organising more projects with TV3 and NSTP.
“We feel honoured to be part of this carnival. Besides holding direct engagement which is part of our corporate social responsibility initiatives, we also want to reward customers who have been loyal with the brand,” he said. – NST Online
